Hey, look! A co-worker said. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! We stopped our work, rubbed our bespectacled eyes, and peered at what entered majestically into our creative sports agency. No, it’s a golden football! At least that is how we saw it when the football academy, Chandigarh Alliance, walked into our agency to build their brand identity.
To say the least, we were super excited to collaborate with a football academy. We’ve worked a lot on branding activities for cricket, but this was our first time working for the cherished sport of football. So, we wanted to make sure we didn’t end up hoofing the ball but rather playing our Fox in the Box moves skilfully.
Our Client’s Path to Braces
Chandigarh Alliance was looking for a comprehensive branding solution from a Football branding company. They couldn’t find any that showcased the same commitment and dedication they had. Most agencies presented conventional solutions, which to the academy felt more like a red card. They didn’t want to get to the point of a penalty kick from such agencies. This is where we, as a creative sports agency proved to be quite the striker.
Chandigarh Alliance wanted to establish a strong brand presence that reflected their dedication to nurturing young football talent. So, we crossed our hearts and took an oath to pull a banger on this project. While discussing the client’s goals, challenges, and gaps, we could identify what they wanted, where they were stuck, and how they wanted to showcase their brand identity but weren’t able to achieve it. That’s when we decided to:
- Develop a cohesive brand identity: We aimed to create brand-specific design options for their brand logo, colour palette, uniform and t-shirt design, including a narrative that captured the essence of Chandigarh Alliance.
- Design consistent creatives: Our next objective was the creative aspect. So, we designed social media graphics and signages that were unique to the brand. We also integrated the Chandigarh touch into the design since the client wanted a regional angle keeping in mind their brand colour.
- Showcase a passion for football: Our final move was to use relevant design elements to convey the academy’s commitment to the sport and the development of young athletes
A Striker Approach to Our Client’s Goals
Our client’s vision was very clear. They wanted to create a unique brand image that enabled them to stand out to their target audience and among competing sports academies. That’s exactly what we did to the best of our bicycle kick abilities.
- Logo design: We presented a range of football logo design options, each narrating a different story that connected with the brand. We identified the significance of fusing the Football Academy with other elements that conveyed the brand image appropriately. Therefore, we applied three elements to the logo: football, unity and academics. Our client then chose the logo design that best represented how they wanted their audience to see them.
- Colour palette: Adding together the right shades were both challenging and adventurous. However, we had to Ace the Goal, so we meticulously chose a colour palette to translate the brand’s energy and enthusiasm. We had several discussions with our client and employed diverse amendments to apply the right combination of shades and maintain consistency across all design elements. Together we worked hard to execute every idea into brilliance.
- Brand narrative: As a professional and Creative Sports Agency, we used our expertise to craft a compelling brand narrative that highlighted Chandigarh Alliance’s dedication to excellence and empowering young footballers. From on-ground signages to standees, flyers, and online and offline creatives, thorough inputs from the client and our expertise was integrated into every aspect of their brand narrative. We continued to maintain consistency across every branding element defining the visual percentage of a shade to the colour of the text used.
An on-fire result-oriented collaboration!
We still remember the day the Chandigarh Alliance Football Academy reached out to us. It felt like being given the Man of the Match award. Despite the various design challenges, we faced in crafting adequate brand identity and creatives, it was a star man step-up for us. From multiple modifications, client coordination, and design options, we were able to apply our expertise efficiently. However, through our creative and out-of-the-box thinking abilities, we were able to implement them as well.
Beyond the creative and branding hat tricks It is important to note that this project held a special place in our hearts. In a nation traditionally dominated by Cricket, collaborating with a passionate football academy like Chandigarh Alliance FA was a refreshing and inspiring experience.
